The Government have a duty to Get Deregulation Done

The Government have a duty to Get Deregulation Done

Originally footpaths were local and used by people for a purpose. The ‘rules’ now governing these paths are archaic and fail to meet the needs of todays society. Footpaths that used to be for getting to work, visiting a neighbour or going to church are now required for recreation and tourism. The demand is great from ‘extra’ users which now include horse riders,cyclists,4×4’s,motorbikes and walkers who no longer ‘need’ the paths but want them for recreation. The archaic laws allow…

August 2019 to April 2020 Somerset County Council have had 18 more applications!!! This was the answer received from Somerset County Council in August 2019 “We aim to determine 10 applications per year. However, we have recently taken steps to increase the rate at which applications are determined. Based on the current rate of determination I estimate it will be 20 – 30 years before investigation of application 8**M commences.“ The current indiscriminate RAMBLER initiatives to claim Historic Paths from…

For Patrick ❤️

For Patrick ❤️

I saw the article ‘If supermarkets can stay open so can churches’. I sent it to our Vicar who hopes, as I do, that the hierarchy of the Church will soon see sense. Meanwhile he’s got a bottle of gin and I’m tidying out cupboards. I equated the article with Public Rights of Way in that common sense is a little lacking in both. Ie; I can walk on a narrow PROW, touch any manner of gates and tread though…

Ramblers must be unaware of the misery that many of their ill researched ‘lost’ Footpath Claims cause to ‘Ordinary’ Homeowners.

Ramblers must be unaware of the misery that many of their ill researched ‘lost’ Footpath Claims cause to ‘Ordinary’ Homeowners.

In answer to The Ramblers Facebook Page. Unfortunately you choose to either ignore the misery you are causing to any home owners affected by some of your claims or you are unaware of it. I hope it is the latter. Some claims are for routes through people’s private gardens even living rooms! The claim itself remains unresolved for years, can be found ‘eventually’ to be false or incorrect but meanwhile has devalued a property and caused misery to an ordinary…

Government closes public places but man is told he must reopen the Public Footpath through his garden or face Court Action!

Government closes public places but man is told he must reopen the Public Footpath through his garden or face Court Action!

This is the notice which politely asks the public to stay away from one mans Private Garden. Wales has temporarily closed ALL Public Footpaths. The police have powers to enforce government guidelines. Some Councils have issued temporary closure notices. One Parish Council puts up its own notice. Yet the victim of a Public Footpath through his own private garden is threatened with prosecution if he does not remove HIS notice. Where are Private Human Rights?Where is the right for a…

Explanatory Memorandum to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Closure of Leisure Businesses, Footpaths and Access Land) (Wales) Regulations 2020 This Explanatory Memorandum has been prepared by the Welsh Government and is laid before the National Assembly for Wales in conjunction with the above subordinate legislation and in accordance with Standing Order 27.1. Minister’s Declaration In my view, this Explanatory Memorandum gives a fair and reasonable view of the expected impact of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Closure of Leisure Businesses, Footpaths and…

One Council publish their ‘Advice‘ to those with a PROW through their gardens. They should be ASHAMED!!!

One Council publish their ‘Advice‘ to those with a PROW through their gardens. They should be ASHAMED!!!

Advice as Follows; [“People living in close proximity to public rights of way are reminded that the public have a legal right to use a Public Right of Way, and that they should not block or obstruct paths. Some paths pass close to residential properties, and in some cases through gardens, but with sensible precautions there is no reason that this would increase the risk to householders of contracting Coronavirus. Public rights of way provide an opportunity for local people to…
